Chunnel is a fabulous architectural texture that is urbane, sophisticated and at the same time fun and super functional. This overstuffed wide ribbed matelasse is woven with 35% recycled materials, making it eco-friendly as well.  Available in 7 colors, ranging from subtle neutrals to rich elegant Smoke, it works well indoors and out on a small and large scale upholstered pieces. Cast Collection: 100% Recycled Aluminum from Henry Hall Designs

New for spring 2011 is the outdoor 10-piece Cast collection by noted English designer John Reeves. Made of 100% recycled aluminum, the cast frames are finished with a durable zinc plate patina and FSC certified teak wood slats.  The indestructible quality of the materials and the delicate simplicity of the organic form really does mean that this range will stand the test of time.

The Cast Collection includes a dining chair; rectangular, square, and round dining tables in various sizes; side tables; and a bench. 

John Reeves, winner of the Elle Decoration Future Classic Award, is a designer whose passion lies in working locally and regionally on an interactive level where design is not just communicated but felt. In doing so,  John Reeves has honed a particular skill base; travelling, living and adapting to the various cultures and peoples he meets when working with the craftspeople of our planet. These travels not only establish a better understanding of global resources and the relevance a design can have to our global environment. The Cast collection is a perfect example of this philosophy. With its graceful lines reminiscent of smooth river stones, this line is ideal for indoors or out.

Thirteen years after its debut in the B&B Italia collection, the Charles Sofa System – A long-time bestseller for the company – is being introduced as a new outdoor version: Charles-Outdoor.

Characteristics that made it a classic of pure contemporary taste have been left unchanged. The systems have the same slim frame, flexibility and signature design of the inverted “L” shape aluminum feet. The new piece maintains the beauty and simplicity of the original project while also evolving gracefully for practical outdoor use – the piece is lightweight thanks to its slim aluminum frame and has an external surface created by open weave polypropylene bands. The range of sofas, terminal elements, and chaise lounge pieces – made up of 9 elements of various styles and sizes – expands with a small armchair and a reclining cot. The dove brown bands match the fabric covers of the seat cushions. The three sizes of back cushions can mirror the neutral shade of the frame or coordinate with lively, brilliant colors from the new outdoor fabric collection. To improve and guarantee greater protection from weather, B&B Italia has treated all fabrics in the collection, as well as those used for the internal part of the cushions, with advanced water repellent techniques.
